Nicole Clark / Founder, Valkyrie

Comfortable with complexity. Suspicious of easy answers.

I’m Nicole Clark: change-management practitioner, organizational transformation partner, and artist. I’m interested in the gap between what an organization says it wants to change and what it makes possible for people to do.

That gap can hold unclear decisions, competing incentives, a perfectly sensible fear, or a process nobody has questioned in years. I help leaders and teams look closely, make choices, and turn them into work people can actually carry out.

Art shapes how I see the work.

In my art practice, I work with texture, layers, and found materials. What looks like a mistake can become the most interesting part of the composition. It still takes attention, craft, and quite a lot of revision.

I bring that disposition to organizations. I’m curious about the thing that doesn’t fit the official explanation. I value people’s experience, including the parts that are awkward to bring into a status meeting. And I’m willing to try an approach, examine it honestly, and change my mind.

That is the thinking behind Playformer: a disciplined practice of observing, testing, shaping, and supporting change.

A partner who stays close to the work.

When you work with Valkyrie, you work directly with me. I can hold the wider strategy in view and help work through the immediate decision: what to tell managers, who owns the handoff, or whether the next pilot is ready.

I take people’s emotions seriously because they shape how work happens. I also take their calendars seriously. A good change approach should help a team make sense of what is happening and give them something useful to do next.

Let’s make your next change workable.

“The function of art is to do more than tell it like it is—it’s to imagine what is possible.”
